Hector Kriete is a ceramic artist from Cali Colombia, who has been working in the Austin, Texas, community for the past eight years. He found his passion for ceramics at an early age, taking his first pottery class in high school. In addition to teaching pottery classes, Hector’s worked with local pottery studios as a production thrower, makes his own signature functional pieces that he sells at local shops, and participates in local and regional art festivals. Amongst all of the functional pieces he creates, teapots are Hector’s favorite.
